How Bookie works

Most people finish in 2–3 weeks

01
You talk

A conversation with someone who really listens. Bookie knows what to ask, so you never face a blank page.

02
Bookie listens

Between conversations it finds the shape in your stories and writes real chapters — in your own words and rhythm.

03
You get a finished book

A fully formatted book to read, revise until it's right, and download to share or print.

Don't take our word for it

Read one. Then hear it read back.

This is a real chapter, written from a real conversation — in the author's own tone of voice, not a transcript. The whole question is whether the output is any good. Read or listen for yourself, and be the judge.

Chapter Three
The House on Linden Street

We moved into the house on Linden Street the summer I turned nine, and for a long time I thought the whole world smelled like fresh paint and cut grass. My father carried the boxes two at a time, sleeves rolled, and my mother stood in the empty front room deciding where the light would fall.

I didn't know yet that we'd stay thirty years — that my own children would learn to walk on those floors. You don't know, when you're nine, which doors you'll keep coming back to for the rest of your life. You only know the way the screen door slapped shut behind you, and that it was summer, and that you were home.

To remember a friend

But what if they're no longer here to talk?

Then you gather the pieces. Send a link to everyone who knew them — family and friends — and each one shares their favourite stories, the moments only they remember. Bookie listens to all of it, finds their turns of phrase, their humor, their way of telling a story, and writes a book in their voice.

Questions, answered

The things everyone asks before they start.

Do I need to be a writer? +
No. You only need to talk. If you can tell someone a story, you can make a book with Bookie.
Will it really be in my own words? +
Yes. Every chapter is built from what you actually said, and you approve every page — revise anything until it sounds like you.
How long does it take? +
Most people finish in two to three weeks — a few short conversations, at your own pace. There is no deadline.
What if they aren't comfortable with technology? +
They only have to talk, like a phone call with someone curious about their life. No screens to manage, nothing to install, and no typing.
What's the difference between the $250 and $600 book? +
A Personal book ($250) is a memoir, gift, or memorial. A Professional book ($600) adds field research, fact-checking, external sourcing, and argument structure built for professional scrutiny.
Can I get a printed copy? +
Your finished book downloads as a PDF or Word file you can print anywhere. Full-service printing is coming soon.
